Indigenous Belongings Presentations - Bata Shoe Museum
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 06/27/2026
Join us every Saturday in June during Indigenous History Month for a special 30-minute presentation created by Indigenous Collections Advisor, Justine Woods. Led by BSM Education Guides, discover unique design elements and materials used in the process of moccasin making, and learn more about the Bata Shoe Museum’s repatriation initiatives and commitment to UNDRIP.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Presentations will be at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. No registration required.
Before or after the presentation, get creative at our self-guided activity stations. Then, explore our galleries to learn more about important Indigenous belongings from our collection that highlight Indigenous culture, creativity, and creation in historical and modern contexts. Have some fun in the Try-On Shoes area and pick up an iSpy card for an adventurous, self-guided museum scavenger hunt. Please be mindful that children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
